At first, you’re all, ‘Huh, Sonic is doing well in Texas.’ Then you’re all, ‘Holy crap, the black represents McDonald’s?’
That’s an understatement. Added Star Wars references are a bonus.

Mimeo And The Kleptopus King
Creative and technical genius Shaun Inman demos his latest creation, Mimeo:
When the evil Kleptopus King, an 8-bit Octopus with an inferiority complex, discovers a portal into Mimeo’s realm and begins to syphon off its bits, Mimeo is sucked in and downsampled to 2-bit. So begins Mimeo’s quest to restore balance to the demiverses.
Built for the iPhone and iPod Touch, the game uses 4 sets of assets, 2-bit, 4-bit, 8-bit, and 16-bit all to simulate Nintendo’s console evolution (Gameboy, NES, Super NES). As you power up by finding cartridges throughout the levels, you also the upgrade environment enabling you to solve puzzles to progress.
This looks like an instant hit and I look forward to hearing and seeing more about it. You can read more at Shaun’s post Mimeo And The Kleptopus King
